2007-04-19 [Yuriona]: Honestly Erin, your work is amazing and I appreciate the time you obviously spent on it. I'm just surprised that it isn't more original. *shrugs* Its like the little mermaid all over again. That's just my opinion of course and you want to get all offended at it go ahead. I thought this contest was about thinking outside the box and really pushing your limits. Again, I'm not trying to bash the skill that went into making the piece because it really is obviously excellently done. I was just surprised to see the same old thing redone because I know you're capable of much more.

2007-04-19 [TheRogue]: yep.. you did. :) See? Now I understand. BTW.. this is me noting the comments.. Erin really doesn't say anything.. I brought it up... no biggie. I know she pushes herself by trying new things in her pieces.. she is still struggling with alot of elements even in that mermaid piece which is how she is working on being able to do more..by making her do things she's not used to doing. She decided on a drowned man more for the fatalistic impossibility rather than the 'saved' little mermaid version. Seeing her love drowned because he was too stubborn/stupid to come up for air seemed almost tragic, and so I thought it would be a good idea and she ran with it.. *shrug* guess the judges will do what they will with it.. if she doesn't take it down and try to do something else now that it's 'unoriginal'... :/

2007-04-19 [Yuriona]: Hey, its just my opinion and I'm sure not a judge. ;) I'd love to see her colour that actually just to see what she'd do with a drowned corpse underwater. Its hard to tell he's drowned and dead in the black and white version.
